Radar 60 km h
Table of fines 2021
Attention, question: what fine do you get if you pass at 60 on a 50 km/h speed camera? As you well know, the maximum speed allowed on many urban roads is 50 km/h (although there are already a few cities that want to limit the circulation inside them to 30 km/h). But, be that as it may, there are roads whose maximum speed limit is 50 km/h; and exceeding it entails a financial penalty, loss of points and even prison sentences (if the speeding is such that it can be considered a crime). But what is the amount of the fine if you are caught speeding at 60 km/h on a 50 km/h road?
Speeding offenses are considered either serious or very serious (this varies depending on the percentage by which the speed limit is exceeded). In the case of being caught speeding at 60 km/h on a road whose maximum allowed limit is 50 km/h, the infraction would be considered serious, so the fine would be 100 euros, and would not entail loss of points.
Have you been fined for driving at 60 km/h on a 50 km/h road and you don’t agree? You can appeal it. From the moment you are notified of the speeding fine, you have a period of 20 calendar days to appeal.
Fine for speeding 2021
After receiving the fine, he saw clearly that it was a mistake and filed an appeal. They attached the technical data sheet of the Audi Q2, which indicates that the vehicle cannot exceed 218 km/h. The Barcelona City Council has rejected the appeal with the argument that the radar “is approved” and that “there is photographic evidence of the identified vehicle”.
For the son of Maria Teresa, Manel Fernandez, who has been in charge of all the bureaucratic paperwork, no one has looked at the appeal. “It is a generic answer, it can not be. There should be a person who saw that this speed is impossible.” And he denounces the problems he has in communicating with someone from the fines department: “Every time I try to talk to someone it’s impossible. They tell me to file an appeal.
For the moment, the family has had to pay 600 euros and accept the withdrawal of 6 points from their license because they have exhausted the administrative route. They do not want to give up and assure that they will take the case to court.
Detran
May 2021. Mark this date in your calendar, because it will be next spring when the new speed limits approved by the Government will definitely come into force. This has already been published in the BOE through a new royal decree that modifies Article 50 of the General Traffic Regulations, but which grants a 6-month moratorium so that we all know these limits.
The objective of this new regulation, as published by the DGT, is to reduce the accident rate in the city, assuring that “lowering the limits from 50 to 30 km/h on urban roads with 1 lane in each direction increases the probability of surviving a collision from 10 to 90 percent”. It also obviously reduces the accident rate by up to 40 percent.
For its part, the almost generic limit in the spring in cities will be 30 km/h, which will already regulate all urban streets with one lane in each direction. So from then on, be careful, because driving between 31 and 50 km/h in the city will mean a fine of 100 euros without points. Driving between 51 and 60 km/h will mean a fine of 300 euros and 2 points, while driving between 61 and 70 km/h will mean 400 euros and 4 points.
