Domino’s Pizza is an American fast food restaurant company, specializing in the production of pizzas. Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Founded by Tom Monaghan in 1960, who had opened his first pizzeria in Ypsilanti (Michigan). Today it has more than 14,500 stores (more than 5,000 in the United States alone, the largest in the country surpassing Pizza Hut and Little Caesars) and is established in 89 countries and territories.[1][2] The largest shareholder since 1998 is the private equity fund Bain Capital.

The origins of today’s Domino’s date back to June 10, 1960, when Tom Monaghan and his brother James bought the “DomiNick’s” pizzeria, with an initial investment of $900. Domino’s Pizza has been one of the brands that has given Alsea air during the pandemic. The pizza chain has positioned itself as the restaurant operator’s star, in a market that is highly competitive with brands such as Little Cesar and Pizza Hut.

Since 2018, the restaurant operator strengthened its home delivery service with the launch of its mobile app, from which you can order home delivery or order pizza for in-store pickup. Since then, the app allowed online payment and offered promotions to customers.

For now, the strengthening of the brand continues and recently the company announced that it will add 53 electric bicycles for home deliveries in the Polanco, Condesa, Anzures, Napoles and Del Valle neighborhoods, as part of a pilot project in Mexico City.
